Mbali Lala is a sculptor hailing from Mdantsane, East London. He pursued his artistic passion at Walter Sisulu University, where he honed his skills and developed a unique artistic style.  

Inspired by waste pickers and their resilience, Mbali's practice delves into the themes of environmental consciousness, social justice, and the beauty found in overlooked materials. Through his art, he aims to shed light on the importance of recycling and sustainable practices.

Although most of Mbali's works have been exhibited in school-based exhibitions locally, he has yet to have a formal exhibition. However, this has not deterred his determination to pursue his artistic aspirations. Mbali's unwavering drive and tenacity to achieve his goals are reflected in his artistic practice, as he fearlessly explores new avenues and pushes boundaries.
